It's an option that's guaranteed to make the envy of your guests. However, the InstaView feature doesn't end with the refrigerator. You can also use an app to remotely control key features, like temperature, ice-production, and diagnostic services. You can even change the color of the LED lights to suit your mood or kitchen design.
Ultimately, though it's a fridge that comes at a premium price. We're not convinced it offers enough value to justify a hefty cost over a fridge that has the same capabilities and efficiency without the InstaView function.
This is especially true when comparing this model with the four-door LFXC24796D that retails for $4,200, and offers almost the same internal storage space. The same model with InstaView costs $3800.
In our tests, we discovered that the InstaView refrigerator's door compartment was a bit warmer than the rest of the fridge, suggesting that it's not decreasing cold-air loss, but rather providing a convenient way to access in-door shelves.
What we did like was the clear organiser that was specifically designed for egg storage (although it could easily be used for other things such as yoghurts). It's also nice to see that both freezer and fridge come with a 24cm LED strip that illuminates when you knock twice on the InstaView door's pane that provides great visibility for quick retrieval of items without opening the doors.
This is the first of its kind that comes with LG's exclusive Craft Ice System that produces stunning spheres that are designed to chill cocktails and whisky. These Ice cubes are smaller than traditional ice and melt more slowly and chill drinks more efficiently without having to water them.
